Accounting Intern

Job/Internship Description
We are looking for a driven Accounting Intern who wants to gain exposure to the construction industry while supporting international construction projects as part of a teamoriented business environment. The Accounting Intern will learn how to work as part of the accounting department to successfully support the company and clients.
RESPONSIBILIITIES:
RESPONSIBILIITIES:
- Shadow members of the accounting department as they perform their duties
- Assist with reconciling vendor invoices with purchase orders and entering of accounts payable
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts
- Work with onsite finance team to collect supporting documentation for fixed asset sales and purchases
- Reconcile project cost accounting between systems
- Work with risk management and project accounting to update subcontractor compliance in the system
- Administrative duties such as data entry, scanning, and filling will be required
- Attend monthly project status meetings and learn how the information from those meetings flows into the financial statements via the WIP
- Attend weekly huddles with operations
- Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a Bachelors or Masters in Accounting
- Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
- Experience with Microsoft Office products Outlook, Word, Excel a plus
- Previous construction experience a plus, but not required
